
Elk City, OK – Two Texas residents have been formally charged in connection with a 2023 car wash burglary in Elk City, with outstanding warrants now issued in Beckham County.
Jennifer McPherson, 46, of Stinnett, Texas, and Jeffrey Wyrick, 41, of Amarillo, Texas, face felony charges of second-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit a felony. The alleged crime took place on August 24, 2023, at a car wash on North Eastern Avenue.
According to investigators, a male and female suspect were captured on surveillance footage attempting to break into the car wash’s payment kiosk and back room around 1:00 AM. The male suspect was seen using tools to pry open the kiosk, while the female appeared to act as a lookout. Estimated damages were around $2,000.
A red Chevrolet Equinox, seen on multiple cameras, was traced back to an Amarillo address. Investigators identified Wyrick and McPherson as the individuals in the footage with assistance from law enforcement agencies in Texas.
The pair were arrested in Wheeler County, Oklahoma, on September 7, 2023, during a traffic stop. Officers recovered in-car and body cam footage of the arrest. McPherson was also allegedly found in possession of a controlled dangerous substance at the time.
Formal charges were filed on June 30, 2025. As of now, warrants for their arrest remain active in Beckham County.
