During the latest meeting of the Elk City School Board, Superintendent Mike Sparks reminded the board that access to federal funds that have been supplied to schools districts since the pandemic began will come to end at the conclusion of the current school year.

Sparks said the school has spent those funds wisely while they were available, and adds that although the surplus will be coming to an end, the school will still be strong financially.

Sparks said that while the district was receiving the funds, they were able to build up reserve funds during the last three years.
