By News Director Jared Atha

After the recent health scare involving a Beckham County Sheriff’s Deputy and fentanyl, Sheriff Derek Manning offers tips on how to protect yourself and others from possible exposure.

He says to be vigilant and to know what a fentanyl pill looks like. He says typically the pill is small, round, and blue with “M 30” engraved on them.

Sheriff Manning also says it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get training on how to use Narcon, a prescription medicine used for the treatment of an opioid overdose.

Manning says if anyone is interested in obtaining Narcon or receiving training to contact your local health department.
