A Sayre man has been sentenced to life in prison for the death of a one-year-old.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said 31-year-old Taylor Dale Lambert has been sentenced to life in prison for the death of a one-year-old back in November of 2020.

On November 14, the Sayre Police Department asked OSBI for assistance in the investigation of the suspicious death of the child.

Lambert had called 911 and the child was taken to Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, where he was later pronounced dead.

Lambert was the boyfriend of the child’s mother at the time of his death.

After OSBI agents conducted an extensive investigation into the death, a felony arrest warrant was issued for Lambert in May 2021. Lambert was convicted of First Degree Murder by a Beckham County Jury on March 31, 2022.

OSBI said Lambert will now be transferred from the Beckham County Jail to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, where he will serve out his life sentence.
