Oklahoma City, OK – Sales tax revenue figures for May 2025 show mixed results across Western Oklahoma, with some towns seeing gains while others experienced slight drops compared to the same time last year.
Elk City posted a nearly flat year-over-year increase, collecting $1,301,999.30, up just 0.09% from May 2024. Weatherford’s numbers also held steady with $1,080,251.52 in revenue, down only 0.02% from last year.
Altus recorded the largest bump among the listed towns, bringing in $1,134,219.24—up 2.09% from the previous May. Sayre and Mangum also saw revenue boosts of 6.62% and 15.87% respectively. Sayre collected $149,316.37 while Mangum hit $56,330.91.
On the downside, Clinton saw a 4.94% dip in collections, dropping from $566,181.26 to $538,205.50. Woodward also declined by 1.37%, and Cordell dropped 9.44%, landing at $88,644.26.
Statewide, Oklahoma brought in $239.5 million in sales tax revenue, a 1.41% increase from last May’s $236.2 million.
These numbers provide a snapshot of consumer spending trends and economic stability across Western Oklahoma communities heading into summer.
