An Elk City teen is in critical condition after rolling his vehicle south of Elk City on Saturday morning.

According to the collision report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 1:47 a.m. 19-year-old Lake Wimberly was north bound on OK-6 4.4 miles south of Elk City when, for an unknown reason, the 2005 Chevy Silverado he was driving departed the road to the right, over corrected to the left, and began to roll. Troopers said the pickup rolled an undetermined number of times, ejecting Wimberly, before coming to rest on its wheels.

As a result, Wimberly was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in critical condition with head and internal trunk injuries.

OHP said that a cause of the collision remains under investigation.
