
Erick, OK — Erick is about to turn purple again. The annual Purple People Eater Fest is set for Friday through Sunday, September 26-28, 2025, celebrating hometown legend Sheb Wooley and his famous novelty hit, “Purple People Eater.”
The three-day festival will bring together live music, food, vendors, parades, and plenty of small-town fun for all ages.
Friday, Sept. 26 – Kickoff in the Country
Festivities begin Friday evening with the Party in the Pasture at 7 p.m. at the 6-C Ranch, located at 12194 N. 1750 Rd. The event will feature old-fashioned bull bucking, mutton bustin’, full concessions, and live music from a featured band.
Saturday, Sept. 27 – Shine, Show & Shindig
Saturday kicks off with the Purple Parade at 10 a.m., followed by Wooley’s Bazaar Craft & Vendor Show from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Car lovers can enjoy the Purple Motor Eater Car Show* from 1 to 4 p.m. The day wraps up with Sheb’s Shindig at 8 p.m., featuring live music from Matt Moran & The Palominos. The event is free, beverages will be served, and coolers are welcome (no glass containers).
Sunday, Sept. 28 – FUNday Wrap-up
The Erick Fire Department will host a pancake breakfast fundraiser at 8 a.m., closing out the weekend with food, fun, and community fellowship.
Organizers say the Purple People Eater Fest is all about celebrating local heritage with a splash of color and a lot of fun.
