Oklahoma City, OK — The Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority (OSIDA) will consider multiple action items at its upcoming meeting on Friday, June 27, potentially advancing both economic development and education in Western Oklahoma.
A key agenda item involves a proposal from Premium Aerospace Center to construct a new aircraft hangar and associated parking lot on airport grounds. The request includes a 40-year land lease agreement, which OSIDA board members will review and vote on. Executive Director Craig Smith is expected to present the proposed site layout and lease terms during the meeting.
Discussion may focus on lease terms, long-term land use planning, and the project’s compatibility with existing runway operations.
Another item up for discussion is a proposed $10,000.85 grant to support the Starbase Burns Flat program, which provides hands-on STEM education opportunities for local students. The grant is aimed at boosting aerospace and science engagement for Oklahoma youth.
The OSIDA board will review how the funds will be allocated, including potential investments in instructional materials, workshops, and travel for students. Officials are expected to emphasize the importance of growing the STEM pipeline to support the future aerospace workforce.
