Weatherford, OK — Registration is available for the 38th National Convention of Alpha Mu Gamma, the National Collegiate Languages Honor Society, with the event scheduled for March 5–7 at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU). The convention will be held in the Memorial Student Center in Weatherford and will bring together students, faculty, and language scholars from across the United States and abroad to share research and ideas.
The 2026 convention theme, “World Languages in the Arts and Humanities: A Multidisciplinary Approach,” focuses on the connections between language, literature, music, the visual arts, and history. The program will include paper presentations, panel sessions, and poster sessions covering a wide range of topics, including research on language in the humanities, interdisciplinary teaching and learning, storytelling traditions, relationships between language and music, performance and cultural identity, visual narratives in media and art, and efforts to preserve endangered languages.
Registration to attend the convention is $100. SWOSU students and faculty register at no cost. The deadline for registering is March 6. Additional details and the registration form are available at https://dc.swosu.edu/amgconvention/registration.html.

Alpha Mu Gamma was established in 1931 to recognize achievement in all foreign languages, including American Sign Language. The organization has grown to include more than 300 chapters across the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands at both two-year and four-year institutions, public and private.
The convention is being co-organized by Dr. Tugba Sevin, professor and world languages coordinator at SWOSU, and Jason Dupree, director of the SWOSU Al Harris Library.
