Washita County, OK – A Mountain View man was seriously injured Thursday night in a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 152 in Washita County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 54-year-old Terry L. Sperle was driving eastbound on Highway 152 near County Road 2280 around 9:45 p.m. when he attempted to pass another vehicle at a high rate of speed. Troopers said Sperle lost control, overcorrected, and the vehicle separated from the 30-foot trailer it was towing before rolling an unknown number of times. The vehicle came to rest on its driver’s side.

Fire crews had to extract Sperle from the wreckage. Troopers reported he showed signs of alcohol use and had open containers inside the vehicle. He was flown to OU Medical Center for treatment.

No passengers were in the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved. The crash remains under investigation by OHP Troop H.
