Mangum Man Dies After Single-Vehicle Crash Near Blair

A Mangum man has lost his life after being involved in a single-vehicle accident near Blair.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on Wednesday, October 9, at approximately 3:59 p.m. on OK-19 near South County Road 205, about a mile east of Blair in Jackson County.

The vehicle involved was a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by 49-year-old Clint L. Emmons of Mangum. Emmons was airlifted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City following the crash but succumbed to his injuries on the morning of Sunday, October 13.

Emmons was traveling eastbound on OK-19 when his vehicle left the roadway, struck a culvert, and came to rest on the structure. He was pinned inside the vehicle and was eventually freed by the Blair Fire Department using the jaws of life.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash. Emmons was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
