Washington, DC – During the House Agriculture Committee’s organizational meeting, Congressman Frank Lucas (OK-03) from Cheyenne was named Chair of the Subcommittee on Conservation, Research, and Biotechnology. He will also serve on the Subcommittee on Commodity Markets, Digital Assets, and Rural Development. Congressman Lucas is the committee’s most senior Republican.
Upon receiving his committee assignments, Congressman Lucas stated:
“I was raised by people who understood the importance of conservation, research, and innovation in American agriculture. My entire career in Congress has focused on these issues, aiming to honor the legacy of Oklahoma’s great conservationists who came before me. I’m excited to work alongside Chairman GT Thompson and my colleagues on the Agriculture Committee to develop solutions that benefit landowners not just in Oklahoma but across the nation.”
Agriculture Committee Chairman GT Thompson praised Lucas’s appointment, saying:
“I’m thrilled to name Rep. Frank Lucas as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Conservation, Research, and Biotechnology for the 119th Congress. His leadership, expertise, and commitment to rural America will be invaluable as we address the challenges ahead. Together, we’ll work to support American farmers, ranchers, and rural communities, defend food security, strengthen our agricultural economy, and pass a comprehensive farm bill to send to President Trump’s desk.”
