Custer County, OK – Voters in Western Oklahoma made key decisions Tuesday, approving a school bond for Arapaho-Butler Public Schools and selecting a new representative for Clinton’s City Council.
In Arapaho-Butler, residents backed a $5.475 million bond issue to fund construction of a new agricultural building. The proposal passed with 198 votes in favor and 108 against, a 64.71 percent approval rate that cleared the 60 percent supermajority required. The bond will run for 10 years and is expected to bring an 8.95 percent increase in ad valorem taxes.
Meanwhile in Clinton, Erin Adams won the Ward 3 seat on the City Council with 169 votes, or 67.6 percent of the total. Tony Paradis received 31 votes (12.4 percent), and Talitha Adler finished with 20 votes (20 percent). Adams will now assume her place on the council, representing Ward 3.
