A Fort Sill man received a felony charge in Beckham County recently after leading authorities on a high speed pursuit that reached speeds of at least 125 mph.

According to court records, 23-year-old Kenneth Donte Scott was charged with one felony count of endangering others while eluding or attempting to elude a police officer after being arrested on the afternoon of May 8th.

The probable cause affidavit in the case showed that the incident began when a trooper with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol observed a car heading north on OK-6 going 112 mph.

Troopers said the car was first spotted three miles south of the OK-6, OK-152 intersection.

After initiating a traffic stop, the car reportedly refused to pull over and according to the trooper increased in speed that reached at least 125 mph. The car would eventually get on Interstate 40 and continue to elude authorities heading east.

The affidavit said while doing so, the car would pass vehicles on the shoulder and also at one time passed a loaded school bus at a high rate of speed.

The affidavit said that the defendant would eventually turn around at Exit 50 and re-enter I-40 west bound, exit at Exit 47 and eventually wreck the vehicle on a county road north of Canute.

After a short foot pursuit, Scott would eventually be apprehended, arrested, and booked into the Beckham County Jail.

Initial bond was set at $200,000.
