Heat Wave Could Bring Back “Fire Weather”

After a wetter than usual start to the summer, the conditions are turning back to “fire weather” for the region and officials remind the public to practice caution.

Elk City Fire Chief Kyle Chervenka says with the on going heat wave paired with a steady high south wind – fields are drying up pretty quick.

Forecasters say the heat is with us for a few more days, saying there will be over 100° temperatures for the rest of the week and even going into Saturday. However, there are rain chance returning as soon as Saturday night and going into next week.
