Dr. Detten brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to patient care. Raised in Ponca City, Oklahoma, he developed a strong work ethic and love for the outdoors while growing up in a close-knit family. This led to a transition to the Oklahoma State College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he earned a medical degree and later specialized in orthopedics through the St. Anthony’s Orthopedic Residency program.
With a focus on arthroplasty, sports medicine, and trauma, Dr. Detten is dedicated to helping patients regain their mobility and improve their quality of life. He has a strong track record of providing high-quality orthopedic care and is committed to continuous learning and professional growth.
Dr. Detten is passionate about the role of an orthopedic surgeon, finding deep meaning in the ability to combine a love of medicine with a desire to serve the community. “My goal is to provide personalized care that addresses not just the physical ailments of my patients but also their overall well-being,” he said. “Seeing my patients regain their mobility and improve their quality of life is immensely rewarding. I strive to make a difference by listening to my patients, understanding their unique needs, and delivering tailored treatments that help them achieve their health goals.”
“Growing up in a rural community, I’ve always felt a deep connection to small-town life,” Dr. Detten shared. “When I visited Elk City, it immediately felt like home. The sense of community here is incredible, and I’m excited to join GPRMC to continue my medical career as well as make a meaningful impact on the lives of my patients.”
Dr. Detten is not only passionate about medicine but also enjoys spending time outdoors, engaging in woodworking projects, and fixing and mending things. Family is also an important part of Dr. Detten’s life. Married to Tyler, who recently retired as a pharmaceutical representative to stay home with their 2-year-old daughter, The Detten’s value the time spent creating cherished memories together.
“We are incredibly proud to welcome Dr. Grant Detten to the Great Plains Orthopedic Clinic,” said Corey Lively, CEO of Great Plains Regional Medical Center. “His arrival, along with the move to the new clinic, represents our unwavering commitment to expanding access to top-tier orthopedic care in Elk City and surrounding communities.
