Clinton, OK — A California man was arrested in Clinton on January 13, 2025, after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of multiple illegal drugs, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine.
Kenneth Ray Moore, 58, of Fresno, California, was taken into custody near the intersection of Gary Boulevard and Lexington Avenue around 8:30 p.m. after law enforcement observed his vehicle traveling on I-40 with only one working headlight. An officer initiated a traffic stop after Moore exited the interstate.
During the stop, Moore reportedly admitted he did not have a driver’s license but provided paperwork from the California DMV. The officer observed a cellophane package in the vehicle and, through training, believed it to contain narcotics.
Moore allegedly confessed the package contained methamphetamine. A search of the vehicle revealed additional substances, including another package of what appeared to be cocaine, as well as a bag with drug residue found inside a Wendy’s bag.
Field tests confirmed the substances to be methamphetamine (0.3 grams), cocaine (1.7 grams), and later a 10.51-gram powder that tested positive for fentanyl in an OSBI lab report. The fentanyl quantity exceeds the 5-gram threshold for aggravated trafficking under Oklahoma law.
Moore was booked into the City of Clinton Jail. He was formally charged in Custer County District Court on April 28 with knowingly possessing controlled dangerous substances and aggravated trafficking of fentanyl.
