February Sales Tax: I-40 Trio Up

The latest sales tax numbers have been released and western Oklahoma’s largest communities saw gains in collections when compared to the same time a year ago.

The latest numbers reflect sales tax intake from the month of February.

Starting with those cities, the City of Elk City saw an increase of 4.3% by collecting $1,186,112.06. The City of Clinton was up 9.2% after collecting $532,688.26 and the City of Weatherford was up 0.8% by bringing in $1,030,307.03.

By comparison, the City of Altus was down 2.7% with an intake of $1,076,762.20 of sales tax dollars and Woodward saw a 2.7% decrease as well by bringing in $1,029,966.41.

Smaller communities in the area had Sayre down 13.4% ($144,540.43), Mangum down 23.5% ($46,392.39), Hobart up 19.4% ($129,962.60) and Cordell up 6.1% ($96,552.68).

The state as a whole was up 2.4% by collecting $224,724,305.53 in the month of February.
