Fatal ATV Crash Claims Life of 14-Year-Old Near Fort Cobb

Caddo County, OK — A 14-year-old boy from Lookeba died Tuesday evening in an ATV crash near the intersection of County Road 1280 and County Street 2520, approximately three miles north and three miles west of Fort Cobb.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m. The juvenile male was operating a 2017 Polaris ATV northbound when the vehicle left the roadway to the right, rolled a quarter turn, and came to rest on its side.

The young driver was partially ejected and became pinned under the ATV. He was transported by Carnegie EMS to Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.

Officials report that the ATV was not equipped with seatbelts. Weather conditions at the time were dry and clear. The condition of the driver before the crash and the cause of the collision remain under investigation.
