Most area schools are back in session on Thursday including Beckham County’s largest school district: Elk City.

Superintendent Mike Sparks says one major change to the district this year is the school’s website, and a new app.

Sparks anticipates an increase in enrollment at 2,235 students district wide, including 45 new students at the high school.

Sparks added that the district is fully staffed for the 2023-2024 school year.

Other area schools opening their doors Thursday include Merritt, Canute, Sweetwater, Cheyenne, Leedey, Clinton, Burns Flat-Dill City, Sentinel, Cordell and Arapaho-Butler.
