Elk City, OK – An Elk City man faces four charges after deputies reviewed home-security video that allegedly showed him chambering a handgun and firing twice near a pickup as it left his driveway, according to a probable cause affidavit filed Oct. 16 in Beckham County.
Deputies were dispatched the evening of Oct. 14 to a residence near Elk City. The reporting party said she and her husband, Alan Dale Beck Jr., 48, had argued and that the couple had been fighting for about four months.
Security footage dated Oct. 3 allegedly shows a maroon Chevrolet pickup backing down the driveway. A man identified as Beck walks from the garage with a handgun, chambers a round, fires to the right of the driveway near a dog, then sweeps the gun across the driveway and fires a second shot into the ground toward the pickup, the affidavit states.
A records check showed Beck has a deferred felony case in Beckham County with sentencing deferred until November 2027. On Oct. 15, deputies served a search warrant at the home. Beck unlocked a gun safe. Investigators recovered 68 firearms and ammunition, including a Remington 870 shotgun with a sawed-off barrel, the affidavit states. After being read his rights, Beck said he did not shoot at the reporting party and fired to scare the dog. He also said he thought he was off probation and could have firearms.

All allegations are from the affidavit. Beck is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
