It was a deadly weekend on area roadways.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol two area accidents sent two to the hospital, while killing two others.

The first occurred early Sunday morning near Arnett in Ellis County when the 2006 Saturn driven by 49-year-old Michael Shawn Morgan of Woodward was westbound on U.S. Highway 60 when while trying to dodge a deer in the road, departed the roadway to the right and rolled one half time striking a fence before coming to rest on its top. A passenger, 50-year-old Angela Marie Morgan also of Woodward was admitted into Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck for trunk internal and leg injuries. She was last listed in stable condition. The driver was treated and released at the same hospital.

The second accident occurred Sunday night west of Fairview in Major County when according to the OHP the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze driven by 61-year-old Wanda Jo Brawner of Fairview crossed the center line of U.S. Highway 60 striking the 2018 Dodge Journey driven by 47-year-old Shelene Rhea Whiteshirt of Seiling. Unfortunately both Brawner and Whiteshirt were killed in the accident. A passenger in the Whiteshirt vehicle, 44-year-old Brandon Jay Benton also of Seiling, was transported and admitted into an Oklahoma City hospital with truck internal, arm, and leg injuries.
