According to state officials, the latest models of COVID-19 in the state suggest the spread is slowing and the curve is flattening.

Public Affairs Officer for the Oklahoma National Guard Colonel Tom Ivester, who has been a part of Governor Kevin Stitt’s task force addressing the pandemic, says based on models released on Friday, Oklahoma is already past it’s peak date.

Colonel Ivester says based on those models, the governor could move forward with re-opening the state as soon as May 1.

Colonel Ivester says the governor could address the state with an announcement sometime this week.
