
Clinton, OK – A Clinton man with multiple prior felony convictions has been charged in Custer County District Court with trafficking methamphetamine after police said he was found in possession of more than 20 grams of the drug.
Court records show Roger Dale Lively Jr., 46, of Clinton, was formally charged Sept. 16 with one count of trafficking in illegal drugs, a felony. Prosecutors allege Lively and co-defendant Chelsea Lela Harrelson knowingly possessed over 20 grams of methamphetamine on Sept. 13.
Under Oklahoma law, the charge carries a possible penalty of up to 20 years in prison and fines ranging from $25,000 to $200,000.
The case also includes a filing of after former conviction of two or more felonies, which enhances the potential punishment to four years to life in prison.
According to prosecutors, Lively has at least four prior felony convictions in Custer County, including:
Cruelty to animals in 2014, sentenced to five years.
Driving under the influence, second and subsequent in 2014, sentenced to five years.
Driving under the influence, AFC in 2014, sentenced to five years.
Domestic abuse, second and subsequent in 2025, sentenced to two years with one year suspended.
The investigation involved the Clinton Police Department and testing by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
Lively was arrested following a traffic stop near the Interstate 40 westbound on-ramp in Clinton around Sept. 14, according to court filings.
He remains held in the Custer County Jail pending further court proceedings.
