A Clinton man was arrested earlier this month after allegedly stabbing another man multiple times.

According to court records, 33-year-old Chase Martin Stewart was charged with one felony count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after a police report revealed the attack occurred during the early morning hours of February 9.

The report stated that Clinton police were dispatched to the 300 block of South 18th Street in reference to a disturbance. Police say they found the victim soaked in blood with multiple puncture wounds and saying he had been stabbed.

The officer’s report stated the stab wounds were to the man’s back, left bicep and lower abdomen.

A witness would tell police that Stewart was her ex-boyfriend and that he was the one who allegedly stabbed the victim. She would say that her along with the victim were walking when they were approached by the suspect. She said that she went inside of the victim’s home when Stewart confronted him. She said that when the victim attempted to go back into this house, he was stabbed multiple times.

Stewart was located and taken into custody shortly after the incident.

With the help of other witnesses in the area, police were able to find the weapon, a large silver knife, in a nearby dumpster.

The victim was taken to a hospital in Oklahoma City by helicopter for treatment.

A preliminary hearing conference for Stewart has been scheduled for March 11 in Custer County District Court.
