An outstanding warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Clinton man accused of assaulting and choking a woman.

According to court records, 38-year-old Julio Migel Gloria was charged with one felony count of domestic assault and battery by strangulation on December 8 in Custer County District Court after a probable cause affidavit filed by Clinton police revealed the extent of the alleged abuse.

The document stated that on November 30 the female victim told police that her boyfriend, later identified as being Gloria, got into an argument the day before. The woman said that the defendant became upset and allegedly began hitting her with closed fists on her face, left arm and leg, and stomach.

She also revealed to police that Gloria allegedly choked her during the altercation.

It was noted in the affidavit that visible bruises and red marks could be seen on the woman’s body and face.

Bond for Gloria was initially set at $25,000.

His first court date has been scheduled for January 13.
