Canute, OK — Canute Public Schools has announced a new bond proposal for 2025 that would fund key improvements across the district—without any projected increase in taxes for residents. The plan includes two propositions aimed at enhancing student safety, updating district facilities, and improving transportation.

Proposition 1: Bond Projects

The first proposition focuses on infrastructure improvements and includes:

  • Enhancements to the Ag Barn used by Canute FFA

  • New turf installation on the playground

  • Purchase of two Suburban or similar enclosed utility vehicles for district use

Proposition 2: Transportation Bond

The second proposition is dedicated to upgrading student transportation, providing funds for:

  • Two new activity buses

  • One mini bus

School officials say these upgrades are essential to better serve students across the district, particularly in supporting extracurricular programs and day-to-day facility needs.

Election Details

Residents will have the opportunity to vote on the bond proposals on August 12. The district emphasizes that the projects are structured to bring lasting improvements without raising taxes.
