Elk City, OK – Elk City Police arrested a man following an online predator investigation that began December 6 at a convenience store on the east side of the city. Officers were notified about an adult male, later identified as Christopher Pitts, who had been communicating with and attempting to meet someone he believed was an underage girl.

Police contacted Pitts upon arrival, detained him, and later conducted an interview with an ECPD detective. According to investigators, Pitts admitted to the explicit communication that prompted the report. Officers executed a search warrant on electronic devices in his possession. A forensic examination uncovered more than 100 images of child sexual abuse material. Additional charges were filed.

During the investigation, detectives say Pitts also sent a message describing a previous sexual encounter with an underage female. Police believe there may be more possible victims and urge anyone with information to come forward.

Pitts has previous convictions for Rape in the First Degree and Lewd and Indecent Acts to a Child, along with more recent convictions for residing within 2,000 feet of a school or park as a registered sex offender and for failing to register as a sex offender.

Anyone with information or concerns is asked to contact Captain Sammy Weygand at 580-225-1212 or weygand@elkcity.com
