An Elk City woman was arrested over the weekend and charged with one felony count of arson after she allegedly set a motel on fire.

According to court records 40-year-old Fallon Tia Borzea was arrested for the crime Friday afternoon at a home located in the 900 block of West 2nd Street in Elk City after a quick investigation showed the suspect on surveillance footage at the scene of the crime earlier that morning.

The probable cause affidavit said that after the fire, footage was reviewed and Borzea was observed walking from a room at the Kings Inn just before 1:30 a.m. The affidavit said that she was observed walking to dumpsters close to 3rd Street where a fire was observed as she turned away and walked to the laundry room of the motel.

Borzea was then observed returning to her room as smoke began to come from the laundry room area.

After being arrested, Borzea admitted to being at the Kings Inn and burning papers inside the dumpster.

Bond for Borzea was set at $100,000. A court date is pending.
