Durham Fire is 40% Contained

KECO agriculture update

Good morning!

Washita River Complex (Roger Mills County near Durham) – The fire has burned an estimated 35,640 acres in Oklahoma and Texas. Containment is estimated at 40%. An unconfirmed report indicates that one residence and seven buildings in Oklahoma have been destroyed.
The fire made a seven-mile run today. Airtankers and aerial supervision were utilized to support ground operations. Fire spread has been stopped at this time.
OFS leadership on-scene in coordination with Roger Mills County Fire Departments implementing plans for monitoring the fire overnight.
Listen to the Today in Ag show at noon for information about donating hay, sacks of cake, etc. Myself and a group of fellow farmers and ranchers will be hauling hay and other things up to the Crawford and Durham area Saturday morning. If you have anything you would like to donate whether it is hauling, hay, feed, etc. please let me know. It will be deeply appreciated and after talking to some folks up there they need it!

Feeder cattle are steady. March 155.97, April 163.67.
Cash grain prices in Oklahoma. HRW 9.76, corn 7.10, milo 6.95, soybeans 15.77.
Cotton is at 1.39
