Sayre, OK – A Sayre man has been charged in Beckham County District Court with larceny of a motor vehicle following an investigation that began just before Christmas.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Kyle Lowell Minchey, 48, is accused of stealing a pickup truck from a residence in the 400 block of North 7th Street in Sayre on Dec. 23, 2025.
Police were first notified at about 5:20 p.m. that day when a family member reported a vehicle stolen from the residence while the occupants were out of town. The truck was described as a gray 2009 GMC with a mismatched driver-side door bearing the word “Texas,” a black grille guard, and a missing tailgate handle. The owner told police the vehicle contained firearms and tools.
Investigators determined the truck had last been seen at the residence earlier that morning. A video from the area was shown to witnesses, who pointed officers toward a nearby residence. The individual seen in the video was later identified as Minchey.
On Dec. 24, the vehicle was located at the Assembly of God Church in Sayre and was removed from the national stolen vehicle database. After the truck was recovered, the owner reported several items missing, including tools and a bottle jack.
Additional paperwork belonging to the vehicle owner was later found during a separate stolen vehicle case. When officers followed up with the owner on Dec. 31, he discovered his vehicle title and birth certificates were also missing.
On Jan. 2, 2026, Minchey was interviewed at the Beckham County Sheriff’s Office. After being advised of his rights, he requested an attorney and the interview ended.
Minchey is charged under Oklahoma law with larceny of a motor vehicle. A judge found probable cause for the charge and an arrest warrant was issued.
