Beckham County, OK – Beckham County Sheriff’s Office deputies recovered multiple firearms while serving a search warrant connected to an ongoing child abuse investigation in Beckham County, according to Sheriff Derek Manning.

Sheriff Manning said detectives were working a child abuse case in the central southern part of the county when they developed information indicating evidence related to the investigation was inside a residence. During that process, deputies also learned there were weapons inside the home and that one of the adult residents was a convicted felon from another state.

A search warrant was served Monday afternoon. Due to the presence of weapons and prior encounters with the individuals involved, multiple people were detained while deputies conducted the search.

Inside the residence, investigators located several firearms, including rifles and a pistol. The weapons were accessible to an individual with a felony record, leading to an arrest at the scene.

Further investigation revealed a second person in the residence was also aware of the firearms and also had a felony record. That information resulted in an additional charge.

Sheriff Manning said the child abuse investigation remains active and ongoing. No further details have been released at this time.
