
Canute, OK – A 60-year-old Elk City man was killed Monday afternoon after his semi ran off the roadway and overturned on Interstate 40.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 1:11 p.m. at the 48-mile marker on I-40 westbound near Canute. Troopers say the semi left the roadway to the left, struck a cable barrier, and overturned onto its driver’s side.
The driver, identified as William G. Rosebrook of Elk City, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant of the vehicle. Troopers reported that a seatbelt was not in use.
The crash remains under investigation. OHP noted the information is preliminary and subject to change.
