Western Oklahoma – Two unrelated crashes over the weekend left drivers and passengers injured, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The first wreck happened Friday night, August 15, at 9:19 p.m. in Kiowa County. Troopers said a 55-year-old Cordell man was hurt when his vehicle crashed at the intersection of State Highway 44 and East 1450 Road. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken for treatment. His name has not been released pending notification of family. No passengers were in the vehicle. The crash is being investigated by Troop M.
On Saturday evening, August 16, a two-vehicle collision occurred around 8:00 p.m. at the Canadian River north of Old Highway 66 in Caddo County. The driver, identified as 42-year-old Jared D. Morris of Lookeba, was not injured. A passenger in his vehicle was hurt and taken for medical care. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. No fatalities were reported. That collision was investigated by Troop J.
