Oklahoma City, OK – The Clinton Regional Airport is set to receive a major upgrade after the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics (ODAA) approved a $1.9 million construction project as part of its Fiscal Year 2026 plans.
At the July commission meeting, ODAA greenlit the construction of a new 10-unit T-hangar and a 60′ x 60′ box hangar for the Clinton facility. The expansion aims to improve aircraft storage capacity and support future aviation activity in Western Oklahoma.
The funding includes $1 million in federal grant money, $769,000 from state grants, and $96,000 in local sponsor contributions. Construction is expected to begin before the end of the year.
Clinton’s project is part of ODAA’s broader push to make more Oklahoma airports “business-ready,” following the approval of the agency’s 5-year Airport Construction Program earlier this spring.
With demand growing in rural and regional airports across the state, these improvements are seen as key steps to supporting economic development and attracting aviation businesses.
ODAA Executive Director Grayson Ardies noted, “Strengthening our infrastructure while encouraging the next generation of aviation professionals will continue to be our main focus as we work to boost Oklahoma’s dominance in the aerospace community.”
