Voters in Cheyenne and Clinton will weigh in on two separate propositions during a special election on Tuesday, June 10.
Cheyenne Ordinance on PSO Franchise Agreement
Residents of the Town of Cheyenne will decide whether to grant Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) a 25-year non-exclusive franchise to maintain and operate its electrical system within city limits. The ordinance would allow PSO to use public streets and rights-of-way for the delivery of electric and communications services, all under regulation by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. The agreement also includes a monthly payment to the town based on PSO’s gross receipts and repeals any conflicting local ordinances.
Clinton Proposition to Aid Hospital Sale
In Clinton, voters will decide on a proposition amending a previously approved ordinance tied to the sale of the Clinton Regional Hospital. While the sale to Rural Health Solutions (RHS) was initially approved in January, the new amendment is necessary for RHS to use the hospital property as collateral in securing financing. The update aims to finalize the transfer and ensure continued healthcare access for the community.
Polls will be open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
