The Beckham County Sheriff’s Office will be providing security at county precincts during the upcoming election on November 5th. In light of recent events, Sheriff Derek Manning says he has been in contact with County Election Board Secretary Sherron Manning regarding security at polling places on the busy election day.

Election security is on everyone’s mind after the recent arrest of a man in Oklahoma City who allegedly intended to attack a voting precinct. Authorities apprehended the suspect after receiving credible information about his plan to disrupt the election. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) and the Oklahoma City Police Department worked together to thwart the plot, preventing what could have been a dangerous situation.

Sheriff Manning has assured voters that there is no known threat to precincts in Beckham County but emphasized the importance of taking preventive measures.

Sheriff Manning says it’s not just voters’ safety that will be protected but also election integrity.

Election day is November 5th, with polls open from 7 AM to 7 PM.
