Canute, OK – The Canute community is gearing up for a fun-filled day at the Canute Route 66 Park on September 28, 2024, with activities for all ages during Canute Day. This year’s event brings together locals and visitors for a day of family-friendly entertainment, all while contributing to the town’s restoration efforts for the upcoming Route 66 Centennial Celebration in 2026.
Festivities begin bright and early at 8:00 AM with the 5K & 2K Fun Run. Participants can register starting at 7:30 AM at the Park Pavilion. The highlight of the morning is the 10:00 AM parade, followed by a day packed with vendors, food trucks, and musical entertainment.
Attendees can look forward to musical performances running from 11:30 AM until 6:00 PM, providing a lively backdrop for activities like the Golf Cart Poker Run from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM and a Quilt Display & Scavenger Hunt from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Heritage Center. For those looking for a competitive edge, the Cornhole Tournament kicks off at 4:00 PM, and a Silent Auction runs from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
The evening will come alive with the Chad Todd Band performing from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, while movie-goers can catch a film at 8:00 PM at The Rym. The day will conclude with a spectacular fireworks show at 9:30 PM.
