Elk City Superintendent Mike Sparks announced that the school district has been notified as being the recipient of federal grant dollars that will provide free breakfast and lunch meals to all Elk City students during the upcoming school year.
He said that Child Nutrition Director Jacy Dyson recognized the need for the grant and applied for the funds back in May.
Sparks said the free meals will be offered to all students at all school cafeterias during regular school hours.
