Cordell Tornado Rated EF-1

According to the National Weather Service, the tornado that tore through Cordell late Tuesday afternoon causing structural damage has received an EF-1 rating.

In a Public Information Statement issued Wednesday, the NWS said the tornado had a path of 2.5 miles with estimated winds between 105-110 mph.

City officials say there was one report of a minor injury and that the tornado did damage several homes, businesses, and the Cordell Elementary School with the bulk of the damage being on the southeast side of town.
