Fatal Accident Near Blair

A Granite woman has died Monday after being involved in a two vehicle accident north of Blair in Jackson County.

According to the collision report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just before 1 p.m. on U.S. 283 about a mile north of Blair when the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 73-year-old Mary Drumm impacted a 1995 Peterbuilt from behind when the truck was attempting to turn onto a county road.

Troopers said Drumm was transported to Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, where she was later pronounced deceased.

OHP also said that the driver of the Silverado was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Peterbuilt was uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation.
