The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence has announced the 2024 Academic All-State Class with six western Oklahoma students representing this year’s class.

The class features 100 Oklahoma public school seniors from 71 schools and 64 districts.

Locally, Becky Yang of Elk City, Cassidy Crabb from Sayre, Ashlee Purvine Thomas-Fay-Custer, Ava Foster and Riley Leonard both of Weatherford, and Scout Regier of Cordell were named all-staters.

OFE President Andrew J. Morris said students must meet one of three criteria to be eligible: an ACT composite score of at least 30, a combined SAT evidence-based reading and writing, and math score of at least 1370, or be selected as a National Merit Semifinalist.

OFE said the 2024 All-Staters averaged a 33 ACT score, with seven of the 100 students scoring a perfect 36.

The average grade point was 4.25, and 41 of the All-Staters are National Merit Semifinalists.

Students are also judged based on academic achievement, leadership, community service, letters of recommendation, and an essay they’ve written.

The students will be honored at the 2024 Academic Awards Celebration on Saturday, May 4th in Norman and will receive a $1,500 merit-based cash award, an honor cord, and a medallion.
