SWOSU Press Release

Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) is pleased to announce an upcoming event to assist veterans with their education benefits. Representatives from the Muskogee Veterans Affairs (VA) Regional Office will be visiting SWOSU on Tuesday, Feb. 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to provide guidance and support.

The event will take place in the Mesquite Room of the Timothy T. Day Business Enterprise Center on the SWOSU Weatherford campus. Veterans, their spouses, and dependents are invited to attend this informative session, which aims to address questions and concerns regarding VA education benefits.

At the event, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with two representatives from the Department of Veterans Affairs. These knowledgeable professionals will be available to answer questions, provide personalized assistance, and offer insights into various VA benefits. They will be available to address a wide range of concerns, including but not limited to eligibility, payment issues, and uncovering additional benefits that veterans may not be aware of. Current students, community members, and family members of veterans are all welcome to attend and seek personalized assistance.

As a veteran and GI Bill recipient, I know firsthand how complex VA education benefits may seem,” said Vance Morgan, Coordinator for Veteran & International Student Services. “Don’t pass up this chance to engage directly with VA experts to address any questions you may have.”

Individuals interested in attending are encouraged to contact SWOSU’s School Certifying Official’s office at 580-774-3004 to schedule a visit or for further information.

The university would like to extend a warm invitation to veterans, their families, and community members to participate in this session and take advantage of the expertise and support available.
