During a recent appearance on The Early Morning Show on KECO, Beckham County Sheriff Derek Manning had the opportunity clearing up a misconception of the county’s school resource officers and their responsibilities of covering the county’s four school districts.

He said even though an SRO may not be on campus, that school is still being served.

Manning said it has always been his goal to have three SRO’s on staff, and that goal was met recently by hiring a third officer that is about to go through SRO training.
