Elk City Commission Moves Forward with Dilapidated Structure

During Monday night’s meeting of the Elk City Commission, three buildings were considered to be declared dilapidated.

One of which, an abandoned gas station on the south side of the city at 101 Hughes Access Road, was declared dilapidated and will be torn down says City Manager Tom Ivester.

In other business, Mayor Corey Spieker reappointed four board members to the Elk City Library Board. Those board members included Cheryl Firth, Darla Riley, Salena Dixon, and Katie Archer.

Their terms as library board members expires in August 2026.

Elk City High School Graduate Named OCU A.D.

Oklahoma City, OK – Elk City native Sadiaa Jones was recently hired as the new Oklahoma City University Athletics Director. The 1995 Elk City High School graduate has been Executive Athletic Director for Dallas College since 2021.
