Ed Klein Named SWOSU Dean of the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences

Dr. Ed Klein has been named as Dean of the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

Dr. Klein has a bachelor’s and master’s degree from SWOSU and a doctorate from Concordia University in Illinois. Dr. Klein has been serving as chair for the Department of Education since 2014. He was director of the department’s Education Administration program from 2014 to 2016. Before he was named chair for the Department of Education, he served as director for SWOSU’s Collegiate Officer Program (COPs) within the Department of Parks and Recreation Management from 2011 to 2014. He joined SWOSU as a faculty member in 2008. Prior to his employment at SWOSU, Dr. Klein was a middle school teacher and coached soccer and wrestling at Weatherford High School.

He recently completed the 2022-2023 term as President of the Oklahoma Association of Colleges for Teacher Education and is training to serve as a site visitor for CAEP accreditation. Dr. Klein and his wife Amber make their home on the family ranch and have three adult children (Lauren, Gavin, & Garrin), and three (soon to be four) grandchildren (Penny, Sheppard, Genoveive, & soon to be Max).
