A Clinton man received a felony charge earlier this month after allegedly pointing a firearm at a man who had parked on his lawn.
According to court records, 57-year-old Kevin Lee Karr was arrested on July 7 for the incident that took place on July 1 in the 400 block of North Fourth Street.
A probable cause affidavit said that police were notified by the victim that while visiting a woman who lived in the same home as Karr, the defendant had become upset because the man’s vehicle was parked on the lawn. The man said he agreed to move the vehicle, however while doing so Karr went into the home and came back with a handgun. The affidavit stated that Karr would point the gun at the man.
The man would leave the property and immediately report the incident to police.
After a search warrant was obtained, police would return to the home on July 6 and arrest Karr. Prior to the arrest, police discovered that Karr had multiple warrants in Custer County.
The next day while speaking with police, Karr stated that he did indeed get into a disagreement with the man parked on his lawn and had retrieved a BB gun but stated he had no intention on shooting the man.
Karr received one felony count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
His next court date is scheduled for July 26.
