Motorcycle Wreck Injures Elk City Man

Authorities are investigating the cause of a Sunday night motorcycle wreck in Beckham County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s collision report, the accident occurred at 9:25 p.m. at the intersection of OK-6 and US-283 approximately 6 miles north and 1 mile west of Sayre, and involved a 2002 Harley Davidson driven by 25-year-old Taylor M. Benkie of Elk City.

Benkie was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in good condition with a trunk injury.

No other vehicles were involved.
