Colony Man Hospitalized After Accident in Washita County

An Arapaho man was hospitalized Thursday after being involved in a one vehicle accident in Custer County.

According to the collision report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred 4 miles south of Colony on OK-152 when while heading westbound in a 1995 GMC, 58-year-old Homer L. Johnson departed the road to the right, struck a culvert, over-corrected and rolled three quarter times.

Troopers said Johnson was pinned inside the vehicle for 39 minutes before being extricated by crews from the Weatherford Fire Department.

The report said that Johnson was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in good condition with head and trunk external injuries.

Troopers said Johnson was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and that the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
