
The Turner girls golf team dominated the field at Falconhead Resort in Burneyville to win their third consecutive state championship. The two-day tournament saw Turner finish with a score of 604, a whopping 153 shots ahead of second-place Tishomingo. Mooreland rounded out the top three with a score of 759. Local teams Mangum and Merritt finished in ninth and tenth place, respectively, with individual performances to note.
Individual Performances
Mangum’s Cassie Whetstone shot a 97-106, while Asumi Sakakibarra finished with 108-98. Merritt’s Bentli Whitson scored 103-108, Peytyn Broadbent shot 114-111, and Madison Robinson finished up with a 102-124. Cordell Freshman Birdie Brown, who qualified as an individual, shot 82-95 and finished ninth overall.
